Discover Tony's Pizzeria Robina

If you’ve ever found yourself craving proper wood-fired pizza on the Gold Coast, Tony's Pizzeria Robina at Shop1/110 Laver Dr, Robina QLD 4226, Australia, is the kind of place that quickly becomes part of your regular rotation. I stopped in on a busy Friday night after hearing a string of glowing local reviews, and from the first bite, it was clear why this neighbourhood Italian spot has built such a loyal following.

The atmosphere hits that sweet spot between relaxed diner and classic pizzeria. Families gather around large tables, couples share pasta over a glass of red, and takeaway orders move briskly from the counter. The menu is extensive without being overwhelming. You’ll find traditional favourites like Margherita and Pepperoni alongside gourmet options topped with prosciutto, rocket, fresh mozzarella, and truffle oil. There are also hearty pasta dishes, crisp salads, and classic desserts like tiramisu and panna cotta.

What really stands out is the dough. I asked one of the staff about their preparation process, and they explained that the pizza dough is rested for at least 24 hours before being hand-stretched and baked in a high-temperature oven. That long fermentation isn’t just a buzzword; according to the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana, extended fermentation improves digestibility and texture. You can taste the difference. The crust comes out light, slightly charred on the edges, with that airy chew that signals careful craftsmanship rather than rushed production.

On my visit, I ordered a Capricciosa and a seafood pasta to share. The pizza had a balanced layer of tomato base, quality ham, mushrooms, olives, and artichokes-nothing soggy, nothing overloaded. The pasta, meanwhile, arrived generously portioned, with prawns and calamari cooked just right. Overcooked seafood can ruin a dish, but here it was tender and fresh. It’s small details like that which reflect a kitchen that understands technique.

Food safety and ingredient quality matter more than ever, and Australia’s food standards are overseen by Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ). While diners don’t see the behind-the-scenes processes, consistency in flavour and presentation usually points to solid compliance and kitchen management. Based on repeated visits from friends and my own experience, the quality remains steady even during peak hours, which speaks volumes about their operations.

The service deserves a mention too. Even with a packed dining area, staff kept checking in without hovering. Orders were accurate, and wait times were reasonable. In hospitality, efficiency can make or break the experience, especially for families with kids. Here, it feels smooth rather than frantic.

Location-wise, being in Robina makes it accessible for both locals and visitors staying nearby. Parking around Laver Drive is generally straightforward, although like any popular dining spot, it can get tight during dinner rush. If you’re planning a weekend visit, booking ahead is a smart move.

From a broader perspective, independent pizzerias like this one continue to thrive because they offer something chain restaurants often struggle to replicate: personality. According to IBISWorld’s reports on Australia’s pizza restaurant industry, customer loyalty and product differentiation are key growth drivers. You can see that principle in action here. The flavours feel intentional, not mass-produced.

Of course, no restaurant is perfect for everyone. If you’re after ultra-fine dining or experimental fusion cuisine, this isn’t that. It’s straightforward, comforting Italian fare done well. Prices are fair for the portion sizes, though specialty pizzas with premium toppings do sit slightly higher on the menu. Still, considering ingredient quality and preparation methods, it feels justified.

After a couple of visits and plenty of conversations with locals who treat it as their go-to pizza place, it’s easy to understand the steady stream of positive reviews. Between the well-crafted crust, generous menu variety, consistent service, and convenient Robina location, this pizzeria delivers exactly what most people are looking for when they search for great Italian food on the Gold Coast: flavour, reliability, and a welcoming place to enjoy it.

  • Such a great Pizza and pasta, on time and there’re always happy. Thanks

  • Tony's Pizzeria is one of the best pizzerias on the Gold Coast. I'm from Sydney and can honestly say that the majority of pizza shops here, don't compare to Sydney’s quality and affordability. Since moving to the Gold Coast only 4 years ago. I've found it hard to find a great pizza place at a decent price. And that's exactly what you get at Tony's pizzeria. My personal favourite is the Prawnstar, but everything I've tried is delicious. The food, and the friendly service is amazing. So much that I drive from Benowa Waters to Robina when I want to eat great pizza

  • I've now ordered delivery from Tony's Pizzeria 4 times in the last few months. Have gotten the Souvlaki Pizza twice and the Beef lasagna twice and honestly is some of the best pizza/lasagna I've ordered in a long time. the crust is light and crisp with quality ingredients and the lasagna is not shy on the portion of cheese. Both Delicious and will continue to order from this place :)

  • This is probably the BEST pizza I have ever eaten in my life. (I’ve had my fair share of pizzas too). I took the Tony special. I highly recommend. Stéphanie from Canada

  • I’ve ordered a few times from this place, and each time I’ve been totally happy with what I’ve ordered. The lasagna has been delicious, the pizzas (especially the satay chicken) has been delicious and my goodness the focaccia bread! I thought it was more a bread but it looks more like a pizza base but still it is so good!! Would recommend 100%! The photos are the cheese focaccia and the half and half satay chicken and Hawaiian
